Examining A4

Read the brief, find keywords in each paragraph. Make notes.

Have you visited the websites of the artist?
What do we know about her?

First impressions

  1. Watch the films (in silence, with full attention).
  2. Create a composition draft for one video on your workstation.
  3. Demonstrate your draft.
  4. Class feedback.

Refine (later)

  1. Edit
  2. Ask for feedback
  3. Edit
  4. Ask for feedback
  5. Edit
    ... and consider your deadline.

To consider:

Research your clients

Your client's 'language', vocabulary is different to yours, so

  • listen to them with full attention to understand their vision;
  • research them to be able to consider their 'whole story';
  • don't talk technical if not needed;

A4 example here. > Make notes, find relationships.

Any interesting aspects of her work to be incorporated in A4?

An example: 'nature conservation & sound' > soundscape > R. Murray Schafer > 21.52? Can I use this as a starting point and reference? Yes.

Senses, loss and gain

More info on the film here.

Imagine blindness, deafness as congenital and aquired for a few minutes.

By refining our senses, can we discover a (more) universal language to communicate our art?

Troubleshooting: problem solving by isolation.

What is Rhea's problem?
How can you help her to solve this?

Inner voice of deaf people.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
